Unemployment Claims Up 6K, Worse Than Expected

In the week ending January 18th, initial jobless claims rose for a second straight week. Initial jobless claims were at a seasonally adjusted level of 223,000, an increase of 6,000 from the previous week's figure. The latest reading was worse than the 221,000 forecast.
