Fifth district manufacturing activity was mostly unchanged in January, according to the most recent survey from the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. The composite manufacturing index inched down 1 point to -6, remaining in negative territory for an eleventh straight month. This month's reading was below the forecast of -5.
