Unemployment Claims Up 8K, Higher Than Expected

In the week ending May 31st, initial jobless claims were at a seasonally adjusted level of 247,000, the highest level in eight months. This represents an increase of 8,000 from the previous week's figure. The latest reading was higher than the 236,000 forecast.
