Initial Unemployment Claims Down for Fifth Straight Week

In the week ending July 19th, initial jobless claims were at a seasonally adjusted level of 217,000, the lowest level in over three months. This represents a decrease of 4,000 from the previous week's figure and marks the fifth straight weekly decline. The latest reading was lower than the 227,000 forecast.
