Initial Unemployment Claims Down 3K, Lower Than Expected

In the week ending August 9th, initial jobless claims were at a seasonally adjusted level of 224,000. This represents a decrease of 3,000 from the previous week's figure. The latest reading was lower than the 225,000 forecast.
