Initial Unemployment Claims Up 11K, Higher Than Expected

In the week ending August 16th, initial jobless claims were at a seasonally adjusted level of 235,000. This represents an increase of 11,000 from the previous week's figure. The latest reading was higher than the 226,000 forecast.
