Initial Unemployment Claims Up 8K, Higher Than Expected

In the week ending August 30th, initial jobless claims were at a seasonally adjusted level of 237,000, the highest level in over two months. This represents an increase of 8,000 from the previous week's figure. The latest reading was higher than the 230,000 forecast.
