Empire State Manufacturing Survey: Activity Declined Modestly in September

Manufacturing activity declined modestly in New York State, according to the Empire State Manufacturing September survey. The diffusion index for General Business Conditions rose fell 20.6 points to -8.7, its largest monthly decline in six months. The latest reading was worse than the forecast of 4.3.
