Initial Unemployment Claims Down 33K, Lower Than Expected

In the week ending September 13th, initial jobless claims were at a seasonally adjusted level of 231,000. This represents a decrease of 33,000 from the previous week's figure, the largest weekly drop in nearly four years. The latest reading was lower than the forecast of 241,000.
